5x Populair student sports
Want to explore a new sport and meet new people at the same time? We’ve selected five popular sports among Eindhoven students, where exercise, teamwork, and fun come together.
Rowing
Don't mind getting wet? Try rowing! Student rowing club Thêta might be the perfect match for you. Students of the TU/e and Fontys can join the club for recreational rowing, competitions, and all kinds of activities.
Volleyball
Eindhoven loves volleyball! The city has two volleyball clubs for students: Hajraa and Tamar. You might know Tamar as the oldest students sports club in town and Hajraa as the host of the biggest (outdoor) volleyball tournament in Europe. Both are great options in our opinion.
Pole fitness
Maybe you've already heard of the Student Sports Center (SSC). They offer a wide range of sports programs for students, such as swimming, fitness, and even pole fitness. The latter is definitely worth a shoutout, mainly because of their collaboration with pole sports club Blue. Enroll and improve your strength!
Outdoor Sports
Looking for a challenge in the open air? Check out E.S.A.T.S. All Terrain, an association for outdoor sports. What to expect? A diverse range of sports in all possible terrains. From abseiling to horseback riding, and from mountain biking to sailing, you can try it all!
Bouldering
Bouldering may not be the first sport you think of in your search for a new activity, but it’s very popular in Eindhoven. This next-level climbing on meter-high walls is done at the boulder gym called Monk. In addition to muscular strength, you will likely gain some new friends as well.
