Walls with Paint: Go Out And Play

In 'Walls with Paint', Eindhoven local, photographer, and art fan Lukedaduke shares the story behind a special street art project in Eindhoven. This month:  the mural Go Out And Play.

At the least welcoming hotel, better known as Hotel The Match, it seems as if the surrounding streets run into the interior of the hotel: graffiti and street art are a big part of the interior here. Especially now that the square in front of the hotel is covered with a colorful mural.

The Eindhoven “vibes” are on display accompanied by the text: 'Go Out And Play', which of course refers to the motto of the hotel: go outside and enjoy the city. And that’s exactly what the figures on the mural are doing!

The artists that have created this mural, have earned their stripes within the graffiti scene. CHAS, NILKO, and RESER are part of a larger crew of artists called the LoveLetters Crew. It’s an international group of artists where each one has a different specialty within graffiti. And they are familiar within Eindhoven: they were guests during the last couple of editions of Step In The Arena.

The mural is a cheerful addition with a raw edge to both the square and the city center. And if you have seen the artists at work, you might have noticed the dog as well (both the real-life version and the one on the mural).
