Walls with Paint: Still Life
In 'Walls with Paint', Eindhoven local, photographer, and art fan Lukedaduke shares the story behind a special street art project in Eindhoven. This month: the still life located at Loods61.
Slowly but surely, the Netherlands is opening up again for summer. The bars and restaurants are opening their doors again for lunch, dinner, or just a nice drink on the terrace.
At the Kleine Berg, a remarkable mural appeared in 2017, overlooking the terrace of Loods61. This mural displays pottery, a lemon, teapots, and cakes in multiple forms.
The surrounding neighbors have initiated this project together with youth center Dynamo, Vincent Huibers, and Eindhoven365.
The artist who painted the mural is ARYZ. He lives close to Barcelona, and the graffiti virus caught him early. A few years ago, his work contained skulls, bones, and intestines, but it includes more and more still lives, portraits, and human figures over the years.
ARYZ likes working with brushes, rollers, and the occasional spray paint. The use of pastel colors gives the mural a Mediterranean look, which suits the atmosphere of the Kleine Berg. In short: a fine wall to look at while enjoying a good glass of wine, a delicious beer, or a cup of tea.
