5x Dreaming of design
Comfortable beds, excellent showers, a legendary breakfast, and a prime location: the right hotel can set the stage for your city break in Eindhoven. But, as a design lover, you can wish for a little more during your stay in the design capital of the Netherlands. Would you like to roll out of bed bursting with inspiration? Then book a night (or two) at one of these five design hotels!
Piet Hein Eek Hotel
Sleeping amidst art and design, that's Piet's promise if you spend the night at his design empire. The Piet Hein Eek Hotel is located at Strijp-R, the perfect starting point for every design enthusiast. If you're in an adventurous (and athletic) mood, you can literally roll out of bed and into the expo, shop, and studios of the Piet Hein Eek complex. And while you're at it, make sure to roll into the restaurant for a divine breakfast. Within a few minutes’ walk (or fifteen minutes’ roll), you are in the middle of the design Mecca Strijp-S. By bus or bike, it will take you ten minutes to get to the heart of Eindhoven. Want a sneak preview? On the website, you can see the art in each room. Choose and book your favorite!
Hotel The Match
At Hotel The Match on the Kleine Berg, they prefer to see you as little as possible. Their motto is 'Check in & stay out', because what’s the point of staying in a hotel when Eindhoven is at your feet? Fair enough. But in our opinion, they are selling themselves short because The Match is a feast for the eyes. In the lobby and the rooms, you'll find super cool murals on the walls. And the rest of the interior will also make your design heart beat faster with its unique furniture, bold art, and artistic lamps. You check in and out with a tablet, and that same tablet then serves as your personal city guide, so you won't miss a single design gem!
Kazerne hotel
When you say Kazerne, you say design. The design factor is obvious in the exhibition space, but also in the restaurants and hotel. Their design fame reaches far beyond our national borders. Kazerne Hotel on the Paradijslaan is one of only six Dutch members of the prestigious international Design Hotels club. Not without reason, because the eight rooms are all equally beautiful thanks to the work of up-and-coming design talent. The luxurious rooms have a rain shower and/or freestanding bath, a king-size bed, a sitting area, and a mini-kitchen. Perfect for relaxing after a day of design binging. Want to take a peek? Visit the website of Kazerne.
Hotel Mariënhage
Some hotels are located in a building that makes you think, 'Okay, let's go inside'. And then you have hotels like Hotel Mariënhage, where you want to take your time to admire the exterior. This boutique hotel is in the event complex DOMUSDELA: a fantastic fusion between a historical monastery and modern architecture. In the lobby, you get a design-worthy welcome thanks to the light art of Studio Drift. And we haven't even mentioned the divine rooms yet. From a modern nod to the monks that used to live there, to a dive into paradise: at Mariënhage you will be immersed in tasteful art and design.
Inntel Art Hotel
Design lovers sometimes turn up their noses at hotel chains, but we promise you that even the biggest design snob will feel right at home at the Inntel Art Hotel at the Mathildelaan. No bland uniformity here, but unique rooms, each with its own styling. We are particularly fond of the bold, colorful tiles in the bathrooms and bedrooms. This hotel is partly located in De Witte Dame, which means you can also sleep in a fantastic loft with those endlessly high ceilings. Whichever room you choose, they are all super deluxe. And you'll be in the heart of the city in less than five minutes. What more could anyone want?
