Galerie Nasty Alice
Quirky and outspoken, to words that match Gallery Nasty Alice perfecty. What makes this place even more fun, is their wide collection of work by both upcomping talents and established artists. The gallery represents artists from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany and presents a new exhibition every seven weeks. Protip: in addition to the large stock of artworks, they also have a permanent collection of ceramics and design.
Pennings Foundation
Here's a little fact: this is the oldest gallery in the Netherlands that specializes in photography. Pennings focusses on autonomous photography, but regularly explores other disciplines within the visual arts, such as new media art, video art, and documentary photography. Worth a visit if you ask us!
Gallery Talking Pieces
This gallery focuses on photography and Japanese artworks. Talking Pieces organizes exhibitions that tell special stories, "with strong charisma and pieces that speak for themselves". A couple of times a year they present a thematic collection: with a selection of photography, vintage, and antiques or an interesting mix.
Piet Hein Eek
At Strijp-R you will find the building of internationally renowned designer Piet Hein Eek. Besides a workshop, showroom, shop, hotel, and restaurant, the building houses a gallery, where a different exhibition is organized every three months.
Onterfd Goed
Not your standard gallery, but definitely worth mentioning. On Sectie-C, you will find Onterfd Goed, a foundation that adopts shows and sells remaining objects and heritage from Dutch institutions to enthusiasts. Wander around and find unique paintings, crockery, and design pieces. Every so often the team organizes a 'tasting' to talk about the latest acquisitions.
