The first nasal creation was the start of a parallel project: Spookhuis Sloosjes. This first (bleeding) nose soon expressed a full-blown nose obsession. Every day a new nose was born in Sloos' studio, ranging from realistic to eccentric specimens.
The nose is an important part of our identity as the outstanding center of our face. The external variety makes it interesting, from large to small, straight and curved to flat or pointed.
Fascinated by the complicated features of the nose, Sloos takes on the role of creator of a range of possible characters. Nasal shells, septum, dirt-resistant nose hairs, and cavities inspire many spatial forms.
The exhibition HOLES by designer Imke Sloos is a physical tribute to the nose in all shapes and sizes. This permanent toilet exhibition can be admired at Salon Veneman.
